How do you order free cake?
Woke up again on time today, so that’s fun. In fact, I woke up a bit too early. You see, as I mentioned yesterday, I often overcompensate with my alarm times. e.g. I set my alarm for 6:15 knowing I’ll actually get up at 6:45. I actually got up at 6:15 today and was out the door at 6:50. With my extra time I thought to myself I have some extra time to get a Jamba Juice. So I did. Caribbean Passion. Good stuff.
Got to work, worked.
Called the cake place to confirm Becky and my appointment for Saturday. We’re moving along with the wedding plans and now we get to eat free cake! Yeah, you can just call up cake places, tell ‘em what you want to try, and you get free cake! They didn’t ask me if I was getting married! Turns out, I am. So when I called I had to choose four cakes to try. Here’s what I chose:
- Rich chocolate cake with mint chocolate chip filling and white chocolate truffle icing
- Lemon cake with vanilla filling and classic butter cream icing
- Carrot cake with cream cheese filling and icing
- Wedding white cake with raspberry filling and marzipan icing
So that sounds good huh?
I got an e-mail from Billy Baker (our church‘s technical guy) about a video shoot for tonight, so I went over to the church after work to give him and John (also tech guy at the church) a hand. The shoot tonight is an interview with a couple that attends the church telling a story about tithing and trusting God. I got to do the camera work on B roll, so I was pretty excited about that. I really just love helping out with anything having to do with video production, which is part of the reason why I love doing what I do on the weekends (more info on specifics later).
After the shoot, we wrapped it all up and headed back to the church. I got in my car and came over to Becky’s house and here I am.
Hey, it’s just my life, no one said it would always be exciting.
sheesh

Kurt, thanks for helping out with that shoot…Billy’s editing it as I type. Cake…if I had to pick I would go with number 3, but it’s probably expensive, so number 2 or 4, probably 4 will be the cheapest.
