Fettuccine Alfredo
Woke up late again today. Yeah I woke up at 8:15. Threw some clothes on and drove to work. I called on my way in to let them know I’ll be late. I don’t know what happened, I didn’t even hear my alarm.
Anyway, at work. Mike and I have been working on this gateway for our dorm users. It’s set up now with a linux box running DHCP so I can limit the access the students have to our campus servers. For a while now, we’ve been working on getting the students to agree to a acceptable use policy before they can access the internet just for the school’s protection, and whatnot. I don’t know if any of you have ever tried to use Wi-Fi at a Starbucks, well anyway it allows you to connect, but when you try to go to any internet site, it redirects you to their gateway which tries to get money out of you. You pay, then you can access the internet. You not pay, you keep getting the redirect page.
That’s the sort of technology we were looking to implement. You agree to our terms, you can access the internet. You no agree to our terms, no internet for you!
We got it up this morning. Well, mostly. We couldn’t figure out the exact working for the agreement, so all they see right now is a page that says ‘Click OK to access the internet.’ But the point is, it works. So that was fun.
After work, I drove to Becky’s house. We went out to eat at this little Italian place called Basilico’s. the dining area occupies about 500 square feet. The cram in twelve tables into this tiny area, but it’s almost always busy, so they seem to be doing something right. Becky and I know what they are doing right. Fettuccine Alfredo with Milanesa. Now, I am dead serious here: This is the best alfredo I have ever tasted. It’s so creamy, so flavorful, so cheesy, so smooth. Hands-down. The best.
So get yourself some.

I think you need a new alarm clock. Is that the same Italian place you two went a couple of weeks ago when you decided to plan your game of the 3rd place on the right? No, it’s not that was on Warner.

I think that you have given Basilico’s a little too much credit. I’m pretty sure that there entire leased space is 500 sq. ft. and that the dining area is less than half of that. Maybe they should start offering lap sitting, they could increase their capacity and efficency (sorry that’s the Disney in me.). Oh, and like the new banner, much better.

If they offered lap sitting it could be the Matterhorn of restaurants. I did not think the other banner was so “frightening” but this one is good too.
