Sunday in London

June 4th, 2007 by Kurt

Sunday 3 June – purchased an all-day travelcard, went to Westminster station saw one of London’s most famous landmarks: the clock tower at the parliament building (Big Ben). Had a look at the London Eye, went to Westminster Abbey. It was closed, so we walked up Whitehall to Trafalgar Square. We ate lunch a nice little pizza café a bit North of Trafalgar. We walked down The Mall along the street since it is closed to traffic on Sundays so we got great views up to Queen Victoria’s Memorial and Buckingham Palace.

We walked North through Green Park and got back on the tube to Harrods. We explored a good portion of the immense department store, taking a break at one of the food markets to enjoy a gelato. We got back on the tube to Hyde Park Corner. We walked up to Serpentine Lake in Hyde Park to do some people watching. We walked back to our hotel, freshened up a bit and went to a pub nearby. I ordered a Guinness and bangers and mash. Becky ordered a Newcastle and a bean & cheese jacket.

A pretty traditional day. Of course we will fill you in on details and pictures later. One thing I will say now, this city is rollerblade crazy!

“I’ll have whatever Becky ordered!” Sound familiar?
    Sounds like a delightful day.
I walked around the pond scum at Central Park Car Show – that’s alot like walking by Serpentine Lake in Hyde Park right?
