Second Weekend in March
This weekend we had fun. So take that! Friday night Becky and I drove up to the Disneyland resort and ate dinner at Naples Ristorante. Two words: Fried Mozzarella. Seriously, it was the best either of us have tasted. After dinner we walked around Disneyland for a bit, then stopped by Starbucks to get a hot beverage on our way home. It was nice and relaxing.
On Saturday I joined Blair, Christie, Sally, John, Sharon and Becky (my brother-in-law, sister-in-law, niece, friend, mother-in-law and wife, respectively) at the Roman Cucina to celebrate Blair’s anniversary of the day of his birth. We had a good time, we ate good food. Blair recommended the penne sausage mozzarella, but with the whole no-red-meat thing, I didn’t think it was possible for me. I asked the server if the sausage contained beef. He went to the kitchen and came back to inform me the sausages are 100% pork. Yay! sausages! The sausage mozzarella was very tasty and it was really fun to spend a nice meal with Blair and the gang, and I hope he had a good time too.
On Sunday we lost an hour of sleep and then woke up and I went to church early to direct video for the two morning services. After services, Sharon, Becky and I went for a nice lunch at Mimi’s Café. I got my old favourite, the French Quarter but with a turkey burger substitute. Not too shabby. After lunch we went for a little drive and ended up at Balboa Peninsula and walked down to the Jetty to watch the boats come in and out. We saw a lot of medium-sized vessels and one or two huge monstrosities. We also witnessed two guys humorously attempt (and eventually succeed) in crossing the jetty on a single surfboard using it as a raft. Both youngsters were wearing wet suits. One of them was wearing a backpack and succeeded in not getting it wet! They also balanced a pair of flippers on the surfboard in between them. An amazingly daring journey. Walking through Balboa was awesome. Those homes, wow!
We spent the remainder of the weekend lounging around. Good times.

Me = a little jealous that you guys went to Balboa. My own fault I should have stayed down there!
